*NEW VIDEO*
Skeletons - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Just beautiful. But Karen O can do no wrong in my mind, so I guess I’m biased. Also, check out the making of the video here.
Chromeo - Night By Night (Siriusmo Remix)
Siriusmo remixes a high-energy dance track, stripping it down leaving us with some slower, funky, synth beats. Makes me appreciate Dave 1’s vocals more. Free download here: http://www.greenlabelsound.com/artists/chromeo/

Yeasayer - I Remember
This is my absolute favorite song from Yeasayer’s new album, Odd Blood, which will be released in early Feb. You know when the lyrics match the song perfectly? Like, this song - with its dreamy, swirly synths, slow beats, and falsetto vocals - literally sounds like “making love on a Sunday” and having someone “stuck in your mind all the time.” Just beautiful.

Snoop Dogg - I Wanna Rock (Remix) ft. Jay-Z
Here’s the first single off Snoop’s newest, Malice in Wonderland. Sounds like prime dance-off material to me… Happy Friday!

La Roux - I’m Not Your Toy (Data remix)
Fantastic, electro-heavy remix of La Roux’s “I’m Not Your Toy.” I don’t understand why La Roux’s 2009 album was so under-appreciated in the US. Fun, straight up electro-pop with heavy synth and oozing with girl power… what is there not to like?

i had write-ups for each album, but tumblr fucking sucks and deleted them all. so here are my top 10 (after the jump).

The Joy Formidable - Cradle
Brit band gets major points in my book for their perfect blend of clamorous, messy rock and uplifting, sometimes-dreamy vocals. This girlfriend-boyfriend duo (plus one other dude) is making really good music. 2010 will be their year.

Spoon - Written In Reverse
First single off Spoon’s new album. I never have consciously considered myself a Spoon fan, but there really isn’t a Spoon song I don’t like. Hm. “Written In Reverse” is exactly what you would want and expect from the band — with industry pressures to constantly redefine and reinvent, it’s great to see Spoon stick so firmly to their sound because, well, it works for them. Britt’s vocals are awesome on this track - super gritty.

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (Piano Acoustic)
The boys remake their electropop dance jam into a version that is more true to the song’s title.
Slow. It. Down.

Chiddy Bang - All Things Go
my fave track off of chiddy bang’s mixtape, the swelly express, samples sufjan steven’s “chicago,” one of my favorite songs of all time.
i’m feeling pretty good about chiddy bang… two college kids from philly who often found inspiration for their music on chinatown bus rides to and from nyc.

Arcade Fire - Maps (Yeah Yeah Yeah cover)
Impossible to top Karen O’s vocals, but this remake is pretty good.
